Please I need your valuable advice.
My current situation is like this
1.     I have a Bachelor in commerce degree along with
chartered accountancy intermediate and also passed one
of the final groups and cost and works accountancy
intermediate qualifications from India
2.     I have experience in working with a tax firm and
in other company.

I came to U.S after marriage and now I am doing CPA
here. I already passed one exam and preparing for rest
of the exams.

I don't have experience in USA and I want to do a job or
go for internship.

My questions are

•     As I am not a fresh graduate, do I get an
internship in U.S.?
•     As I don't have U.S experience how should I
proceed to get a job or internship?
•     I live in Saint Louis. Can any body in Saint
Louis please give me some advice?
•     How should I approach a CPA firm with my
background?

Please give me some advice as I am confused. I sent few
applications online to few firms but there is no
response. I am eligible to work in USA and also have
experience with accounting software.

THANKING YOU A LOT

I think an internship in the US can't hurt. I knew of one girl who did her internship in a BIG 4 in her home country and was then able to interview for land a FT entry-level job offer in the same BIG 4 here in the US. Only thing is she was attending a US university in the same city at the Masters level. I encourage you to enroll in a Masters  program to be eligible for internships. Also, your degree isn't in Accounting so you don't really have the necessary courses under your belt that firms for internships like to see on transcripts. Hope this helps!

Thank you for your response hslmsa ,
My Bachelor of commerce degree is an equivalent degree
with bachelor of accounting here in U.S.
As I also hold certificate from ICAI, I am assuming that
my qualifications would help me to sail.
