Yea I kind of want to know about this too. I passed the exam but the credit expiration date is still showing, does that mean it will expire. And how much time do I have til I apply for license.

This depends on the state. In Florida, you have one year to apply for the CPA license once you pass all four parts. If you do not apply within that one year period, your scores will expire and you will have to take the test again. Also in Florida, you can apply for licensure without the one year experience but you won't be approved for licensure until you get the experience. The best thing to do is just go ahead and send in the application to stop the one year clock from ticking.

Yes, I live in Florida. According to the DBPR website, you cannot apply for licensure until you have the 150 credit hours. But you can apply if you don't have the one year of experience. All is going to happen is that they will put your application on hold until you have the experience.

I won't start working under a CPA probably until I pass the exam. So, if I have to wait until I have the one year experience, there is going to be some horrible overlapping which will result in me having to take the entire exam again if I can't apply for the exam until I have the experience. You have to apply for the certification within one year after passing the exam.

1) You must have the 150 credit hours to apply for the license.

2) You do not have to have the one year experience to apply for the license but you will NOT be approved for the license until you have the experience.

You have one year after passing the CPA exam to apply for the license or your grades will expire resulting in you having to take the entire exam again. So, even if you don't have the experience after passing the CPA exam, apply for the license anyway.

Hmmm...maybe it had something to do with the old rule. It says right on the DBPR's site that you only have a year to apply or you will lose your scores.

I hope your test went ok on the 5th.  :)
