Introduction
[Graphic images are not included in this sample chapter]

Virtually every subject matter is documented on the Internet. Although some resources are more trustworthy and accurate than others, the Internet is an amazing resource to learn and edify yourself. There is even a wealth of information about the inception of the Internet itself. It is not imperative you understand the very intricacies of the Internet's inception, however, it wouldn't be a bad idea to take a read of this chapter to gain insight and a knowledge base of Internet information. You can tap into this resource of knowledge when clients inquire of you for information, or you could just wow them at a social function.

In this section I am going to walk you through a brief history of the Internet by highlighting historical resources on the Internet. If you choose to delve into the history further, I have included the sources of this historical perspective.

Before we jump into Internet history, here is a side note. Not only is the history of the Internet documented, but also the inception of accounting as a vocation. Check out Accounting: A Virtual History at http://www.acaus.org/history/ which documents accounting back to 3500 b.c.!
